I met Scott on the popular dating site on Plenty of Fish in October 2014. We hit it off straight away and by Christmas we had moved in together. Scott then proposed to me on my 40th Birthday in July 2017 in Sidari, Corfu.
Planning the wedding was really fun. I am usually very organised and know exactly what I want, but Scott was determined to have some input and we made a lot of the decisions together. This made the whole experience so much easier. We also had an extra year to plan the finer details and make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it to be. We decided to get married at St Pauls Church in Doves hole and the have a reception at the Three Horses Shoes, in Blackshaw Moor. Both the church and venue were exactly what I wanted.
I visited two dress shops and tried on 12 dressed before I found the one. After going to SAS Bridal in Stockport, I explained that I wanted something that was classical and elegant, and I think that the Ronald Joyce Nadia _style 69312 had everything.
Showing it to my bridal party, I knew it was the one for me and my mum loved it. It was classic and simple but with lovely bit of detail bling round the waist and sweetheart illusion neckline. The sparkly was something I was a little hesitant on my as soon as I saw myself in the mirror, I loved it. The Mikado silk material was beautiful, the bodice flattered my figure perfectly. I tried a couple more after it but went back to it and knew it was the one.
I was a little worried about the dress on the day after not seeing myself in it since the alterations in 2020, due to the original date getting cancelled. I kept looking at photos to hold onto my excitement, but was scared that after some lockdown weight loss, I wouldn’t look the same in it. So, on the day, after having my hair and makeup done and I put my dress on, I felt a million dollars and so happy. It looks better the before.
Coming up to the wedding we were worried that with some of the restrictions still in place and that the day would have been ruined. However, that wasn’t the case.
The day was perfect from start to finish with nothing going wrong. There was a couple of little hiccups with the weather _it decided to rain in the morning, and when I had to get to church which was a little stressful. But by the time we got to the venue it brightened up and the sun shone for us.
A special thank you too Kim and Scott for sharing your story and photos with us. They were truly beautiful.
Special thanks to our photographer Kirsty
