Bethany _ Chris: Real Bride Story
We got married on what seemed like the hottest day of the year, people had umbrellas up during the outside ceremony to stop them from feeling too hot.
We wanted to celebrate love and family and had lots of embroidery hoops hanging from an arch with vines on it, displaying pictures of our siblings, parents and grandparents weddings to make up our table plan. We wanted to make it as personal as possible to us, our family and friends.
We also wanted to involve all ages, and had both our grandmas to be our witnesses. Our two baby nephews, aged 4 months and 6 months, were our ‘page babies’. They even ‘walked’ down the aisle with my mum and the best men. We met at a musical summer school 9 years ago, we both come from musical families and had a brass band in the ceremony, made up of our family members. Our friend even arranged a piece of music for us to walk out too. It was truly something special.
I asked family and friends who I knew could bake if they could make a cake for the wedding, and they told me what they wanted to bake. We had a coffee cake, Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle, cookies, blondies, mars bar slices, cookies and cream, brownies, blueberry bundt cake, summer berries and white chocolate, carrot cake and tiffin. We tried to cover everything!
When it came to the dress I chose a Ronald Joyce Jillian dress _style 18059 from Ronald Joyce’s Victoria Jane Collection and paired it with my sister-in-laws veil. The dress was from Maison de la Bride in Peterborough. I didn’t have any ideas or preferences of what sort of style I wanted to wear, and pretty much liked every dress I tried on-all 40 of them! Based on my smaller frame and the farm setting, many people had predicted a lace fitted fishtail for me, but I surprised them all with a satin ball gown. I tried it on with my mum and then went back with my sister and sister in law. They both loved it too, I didn't want to take it off that day and all 3 of them cried! I liked the classic look, paired with the modern features-the little sparkle round the neck, waist and back, the buttons all the way down, and of course the pockets!
If there is one thing I could say to any future bride, try to be more bridechilla than bridezilla. The planning is part of it but don’t let it become stressful. The day will be perfect!
Nothing comes close to those precious words of encouragement from a recently wedded bride! You can check out her dress and many others on the link below
