Kylie & Adam: Real Bride Story

We got married at Warwick House in Southam which is an absolutely beautiful house with lots of history, a whole host of different rooms located and it’s close to Stratford-Upon-Avon.

I didn't really have a theme in mind to be completely honest. I just knew I wanted white roses as they are my all-time favourite and lots of plain white candles everywhere. It was simple yet classy. We added a hint of maroon here and there with the bridesmaid’s dresses and ties for the groomsmen.

The venue has lovely outside gardens so we were hoping the weather would hold out for us to ensure we could all enjoy the outdoor areas and have our pictures taken. Luckily the weather on the day was so lovely and we were happy our guests could all mingle and enjoy the scenery.

In all honestly I had pictured my wedding dress since I was a child. I had always wanted a fishtail dress with lace sleeves and I had hundreds of pictures of what I wanted. I only tried on 4 dresses, all in same shop, when the lady who was fitting me suggested a dress she thought would look amazing on me. It was totally the opposite of what I wanted and I wasn’t convinced at all, but took her advice and decided to try it on. I've never felt a feeling like it before, it was the first time in my life I felt truly beautiful. No fishtail or lace in sight. I never believed other brides I had heard explain to me the feeling you get when you find “the one”, until that moment.

The shop was called Lula Ann Bridal in Erdington, Birmingham and my dress was a Ronald Joyce dress from their Victoria Jane Collection called Laura, style number 18158 . It was a satin A-line dress with a V-neckline and V at the back. It also had pockets and a gorgeous beaded belt. I went dress shopping with my mum, and it was a lovely day to share with her.

Myself and Chris planned our wedding in just 10 months. Suffice to say it was quite stressful at times but on the day it was 100% worth every stress and sleepless night we encountered. We needn't have worried over the little details and I didn't even notice most of them.

My top tip for future brides would be not to listen to other people's opinions. Just do what is best for you and your partner. It is after all your day so just do what makes you happy.
