I met Aaron back when we were in Sixth Form together. We had psychology together so spoke a little, but I had a boyfriend at the time and Arron later told me he didn’t want be friend zoned. A year later we started talking again and just before Christmas we became a couple. We both went to different University’s, and I even taught in France, but Arron still came to visit me.
Aaron proposed when we were on a family holiday in Luca, Italy, all my family were there. My parents knew it was going to happen as Aaron asked for my dad’s permission before we went.
We all went into Luca and visited the Church and Bell Tower there. We decided to climb the stairs to look out on the beautiful view. After a little while my family went back down but Arron said he wanted to look at the views for a few more minutes. I was getting impatient as my family was waiting. But then Aaron opened his backpack and got down on one knee, I was so shocked I just kept laughing but managed to say yes!
Planning during Covid was very stressful as we weren’t sure how many numbers we would be allowed or what restrictions there might be. We had 3 list of guests depending on the rules but luckily all the restrictions were lifted, and, on the day, we could have everyone. We knew that we wanted a rustic relax theme wedding so when we found The Parlour, we fell in love with it. It was relaxed and private, with great indoor and outdoor space.
I visited 2 wedding shops with my mum and my grandma. I did have a third, but after trying on the Ronald Joyce, Robyn _style 68060, I knew it was the one. At Simply Wed Bridal we had some prosecco and chatted about the dresses that I had already tried from the first shop, and they chose some dresses for me based on that. When I put the Robyn on, I knew straight away from my mum and grandma’s reaction that it was the one. Grandma the proclaimed that I wouldn’t find a nicer dress and the lady’s at simply Wed Bride Agreed.
It was everything and more that I described to Helen and Wendy in the shop. It had a lot of sparkle on it which I absolutely loved, as every time I moved it caught the light in different ways. The lace detail and beading around the neckline was gorgeous and I loved the back detail too. I adored that it showed off my waist and had a gorgeous belt on it. It even comes with an extra detachable train which was a bonus. I felt like a princess wearing the dress and never wanted to take it off.
The day ran perfectly, despite a little rain and I loved every minute of it. We had dance lessons for our first dance, and I was a little nervous about dancing in my dress but it was lovely and everyone said how amazing it was.
My bit of advice for future brides would be to enjoy every minute as it goes so quickly on the day.
