Chelsea & Adam: Real Bride Story

We got married on July 25th 2021 at the gorgeous Banff Springs Hotel, we had a dream day thanks to the events co-ordinator Sarah who made sure everything was perfect.

After five years together, and knowing each other since school, Adam proposed to me on a Gondola in Venice in May 2019, it was so romantic.

Wedding planning was too easy, we chose local suppliers and they made it so stress-free planning and on the day. I walked down the aisle only 1 minute late! It was everything I could have hoped a wedding to be.

I had no idea what dress I wanted, I thought maybe lace but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I had two appointments at different shops on the same day and tried on loads of dresses; including the dress I chose in lace! The dress I chose I found in the first shop we went into, but I still went to the second shop to try on more, and then came back for it! I chose the Nadia _style 69312 as it was just beautiful, and I actually preferred the simplicity of the silk over the lace detail. On the day everyone said my dress was perfect, and not what they were expecting which was a lovely thing to be told. I loved the sparkle around the neck and waist with the simple styling.  Diane and Melissa at Blush Bridal were brilliant at bringing out dresses for me to try on and finding my perfect style. They helped me find my dream dress, and I am so grateful!

We had Deeside Classic Campers as our transportation to the venue. After the ceremony, we had a champagne drive just me and Adam and it was perfect. We had time alone as husband and wife for the first time, it was perfect. Then Sarah _the wonderful events co-ordinator I’ve mentioned! had the idea to do the first dance outside, so that our guests could join in and without masks. It was such a special moment to dance outside surround by nearest and dearest, with no distancing or masks.
The day wasn’t entirely smooth though; as we were outside the seagulls got involved…. My dress, Adam’s jacket and the humanist’s shirt all ended up with seagull poo on! We just laughed and continued with the ceremony; nothing could stop us being so happy!

My advice to future brides is that planning a wedding is only as hard as you make it; don’t worry about what other people want or expect, make it the perfect day for you as a couple.

Our wonderful photographer was Christie Johnson.
