Five Fabulous A-line Wedding Dresses

Often overlooked, A-line wedding dresses are a popular silhouette that sit between the figure-framing fit and flare and voluptuous ballgown.

Resembling the shape of an upper-case A, the classic A-line has a fitted bodice with a skirt that flows out to a wider hem, flattering every woman thanks to its ability to create an hourglass effect on every body shape. This universally flattering silhouette suits any bride and looks great teamed with various sleeve lengths.

In this blog, we’ve selected a handful of A-line wedding dresses from our Spring 2022 Ronald Joyce collection to inform and inspire you when shopping for your own dream dress.

Style 69703

First in focus is style 69703 - a delicately-beaded wedding dress with a stunning organza pleated v-neckline, off-the-shoulder capped sleeves and lace appliqué bodice complete with a tulle gown skirt and beautiful bridal button detailing. This beautiful A-line wedding dress is fitting for the most feminine bride who wants to flatter her figure without a romantic voluptuous ballgown skirt.

Our next A-line is another lace appliqué style with cap sleeves. Similar to 69703 but with a plunging illusion v-neckline and bold lace appliqué detailing, style 69705 suits the confident bride who wants to accentuate her decolletage while flattering her lower body without a figure-hugging or voluminous skirt. Similar in silhouette to style 69703, 69705 has a sweeping cathedral train and on-trend scoop back.

Another A-line we’re very in love with is style 69711, an Italian-inspired off-the-shoulder lace appliqué wedding dress with a striking keyhole back complete with beautiful bridal button detail. Available in Ivory/Champagne and Ivory/Ivory, it’s the perfect pick for a bride who wants to flaunt her collarbone and shoulders while exuding elegance as she walks down the aisle.

Style 69717

Our final dress is our personal favourite and perfect for the fashion-forward bride who seeks a demure look for church. Fabulous and floral, style 69717 is an exquisite A-line dress with a stunning high neckline and long lace appliqué sleeves complete with 3D floral detail and an organza and tulle skirt. A cathedral train accentuates the skirt creating the ultimate show-stopping silhouette. Our wedding dress designer, Veni, designed this dress with Italian brides in mind, choosing the style for her daughter’s Sicilian wedding last year. This increasingly-popular style has also been adorned by Lily Collins and Paris Hilton on their wedding days.

We hope these five fabulous A-line wedding dresses give you a flavour of the flattering silhouette so you can go wedding dress shopping armed with confidence.
