What are you allowed to wear for Ladies day?
First a little on the rules of attending a ladies day. Laddies attending should wear:
• A dress or top and skirt, with shoulder or halter neck straps (lace and chiffon fabrics are permitted, no minimum length)
• A trouser suit of matching material and colour
• A jumpsuit that falls below the knee and complies with the shoulder strap requirements
• A hat, headpiece or fascinator
When it comes to occasion dressing, knowing what to wear to the races is perhaps the most challenging. Thanks to the strict dress codes and age-old formal traditions, it can be easy to not feel like yourself and end up buying something you would never ever wear again. Because really how practical is a fascinator that looks like a tropical bird?
The may thing that you have to think about is feeling comfortable and beautiful. There is noting worst that not feeling like yourself when at a social occasion.
Veni’s top tip is “when planning your race day outfit, try and follow the same rules as you would for weddings and christenings. Think, chic and classy with an added pop of personality and colour. The races are all about colour”.
And Veni is correct. The races, especially ladies’ day is really all about wearing a daring colour that you wouldn’t normally wear but always wanted to. Bright pinks, vibrant blues and eye-catching patterns are the things that seem most at the races. Many ladies find the event best time to really show off their favourite designs, colourful hats and of course the dresses.
There is no colour that are off-limits the races. Of course, you can wear colours that you feel more comfortable, and this is the time to step out of the box.

Bold colours
With so many potential colour combinations to choose from, deciding on the best colour to wear to the races can be overwhelming, however, you can’t go wrong with bright and bold at the races.
