Lula Ann, Ronald Joyce Bridal Stockists, took up the opportunity to have a dedicated Mother of the Bride store. We caught up with owner Lucie to hear all about it.

We felt there was a need to open our shop as we were constantly being asked at our sister company Lula Ann bridal, where we can recommend for mums of the bride and groom to buy an outfit which is a little more special and higher end.

We chose to stock Veni Infantino because we simply feel that it is the best around! Her dresses are high quality and she designs such a wide variety of styles from classic and traditional to tailoring and more bolder styles for the mums who want to stand out. There are many variations of jackets and coats, dresses fitted and A-line, long & short as well as trouser suits and floaty numbers. What’s more there is a wide range of fabrics and colours, both plain and sparkly. Veni’s dresses also tend to suit ladies whatever age, size or shape – there really is something to suit anyone and make them feel very special.

What are mums looking for?

We feel mums want to look and feel younger and Veni achieves this in such an elegant way. 

One of our personal favourite styles is the Aline because it’s so young, fabulous and fun but also so classy. 

Mothers of the Bride/Groom these days in our opinion are looking for something a little different than on the High Street so they look different to the wedding guests. They want to look and feel young and want that “wow” factor! We don’t feel we sell more of a particular style, we sell a very wide range which is great that we have so many to offer and feel Veni leads the market for these requirements.

Tell us more about the shop…

 

We might be a little biased, but we feel that we have an amazing shop with so many styles, colours and sizes to choose from. We as a shop wanted to give our mums a lovely experience similar to the brides as it’s a very special day for them too. They too get to have a lovely glass of bubbly and are made to feel very special.

 

We don’t just sell these dresses to mums though, we sell Veni Infantino dresses to ladies going to the races, special birthdays, grandparents and aunties, business presentations, charity balls and even ladies attending Buckingham Palace!

 

We open Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm in Erdington, Birmingham.  We don’t require an appointment because we don’t want to make our ladies feel rushed and hope that they enjoy their experience with us.

 

We mainly advertise on social media but to our delight we have so many customers who come in through recommendations (which we think is the best form of advertising).

What do you love about your job?

 

One of our favourite things about our job is making ladies feel beautiful.  We see so many ladies who have very little or no confidence, they come in saying that they can’t wear dresses and look awful in everything. We soon show them that they are wrong! We find their perfect outfit, usually by encouraging them to try something that they wouldn’t normally try.  They leave us with a huge smile, and their head held high knowing they can look amazing!  This makes our day!

 

Our biggest tip we give to all our mums is…

 

“If a complete stranger walks into your wedding, they should easily be able to pick out which are the 2 mums” - Mother of The Bride /Groom should 100% be a step above their wedding guests! So, go for it!
